Since starting her own business in 2016, Topeka-native Sheila Ellis-Glasper has scaled up quickly — and she’s helping other business owners do the same.
Ellis-Glasper’s business, SEG Media Collective, which is based in Manhattan, offers a range of marketing and consulting services and focuses heavily on helping clients harness the power of social media to expand their reach.
Ellis-Glasper recently joined Topeka Capital-Journal reporter India Yarborough to talk about the importance of social media for today’s small businesses, how it can be used to connect businesses with potential customers and why it should be a key tool in every small-business owner’s toolbox.
Their conversation is featured in the latest episode of The Capital-Journal’s “It’s Your Business” podcast.
“Even just looking back at this past year with the pandemic, that really put a spotlight on the importance of digital-media presence and social-media presence for businesses,” Ellis-Glasper said. “It became a non-negotiable. … Businesses needed to use digital media to be able to communicate with their clientele.”
And that’s a reality she expects will continue.
