Customs found a hidden stash of high end gadgets in a Mercedes, triggering criminal notifications and an active investigation.

In Lviv region, customs officers uncovered in a specially arranged hidden compartment inside a car nearly 500 gadgets from Apple, Samsung and Google, with an estimated value of 17 million UAH.
The State Customs Service reported the incident.
According to the customs officers, the Mercedes-Benz was being driven by a 46-year-old resident of Khmelnytskyi region and had entered Ukraine through the Shehyni – Medyka border crossing.
During the vehicle inspection, in coordination with border guards, a hidden stash was discovered – a double wall between the luggage compartment and the passenger cabin.
The stash contained 487 gadgets, including 303 Apple iPhones, 19 Samsung Galaxy smartphones, 6 Google Pixel smartphones, and 159 Apple AirPods Pro 3 wireless headphones.
The estimated value of the seized goods was 17 million UAH.
A protocol was drawn up for a violation of customs rules. The report on the incident was sent to the Territorial Administration of the Bureau of Economic Security in Lviv region for signs of a criminal offense under Article 201-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Investigations and checks are ongoing, and the case materials have been forwarded to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.
