Olufunke Arokodare and her growing commitment to women’s empowerment and wellness
In a world where success is often measured by financial achievements alone, Omooba Olufunke Arokodare represents a different narrative, one that combines enterprise, personal growth, faith, and a commitment to helping others discover their potentials.
Over the years, Olufunke has built a reputation as an entrepreneur, mentor, and advocate for women’s all round wellness and development, carving a path that reflects resilience, continuous learning, and service. Her journey spans the corporate sector, the culinary industry, and community impact initiatives, making her a notable example of how professional success can be aligned with purpose.
Born and raised in Lagos, Olufunke’s formative years laid the foundation for the values that continue to shape her life and work. She attended Home Science Association School in Ikoyi for her primary education before beginning her secondary education at Holy Child College. She later proceeded to Queen Elizabeth School in Ilorin, where she completed her secondary studies.
Her academic pursuit led her to the University of Ilorin, where she earned a degree in Statistics. While her educational background pointed toward a conventional professional path, her career trajectory would eventually reveal a broader vision.
Like many professionals seeking stability and advancement, Olufunke began her career in the corporate world, securing a position with Mobil Nigeria. Yet despite the prospects associated with a high-paying career, she found herself drawn toward entrepreneurship and the opportunities it presented for creativity, innovation, and impact.
That decision led to the birth of Ashers Delicacies in 2004. What began as a catering business has since evolved into a multifaceted enterprise with interests spanning consulting, training, and trading. Under her leadership, Ashers Delicacies developed into a structured organization operating through various strategic business units, reflecting her ability to identify opportunities and adapt to changing market realities.
Her journey from catering has evolved into a deeper calling in nutrition, with a strong focus on women’s wellness and geriatric care; an interest sparked by her personal experience caring for her mother in old age, which led her to develop a passion and expertise in proper elderly nutrition. Today, she also advocates mental wellness, emphasizing the powerful link between what we consume and our psychological health. Through her foundation, she advances a holistic mission built on four pillars: Spiritual Wellness, Financial Stability, Personal Development, and Physical Health. Those who have followed her professional journey often describe her as a future-focused thinker, someone constantly searching for smarter, more efficient ways to solve problems and create value.
Beyond business, Olufunke’s commitment to personal development is evident in her extensive educational pursuits. She holds professional certifications from the International Center for Culinary Arts in Dubai and is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School, where she attended both Agribusiness and Owner Manager programmes.
Her quest for knowledge also extended into health and wellness, leading her to complete Diploma and Advanced Living Nutrition programmes through Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom. Complementing these achievements is a two-year programme at Rhema Bible School, reflecting the central role faith plays in her worldview.
For Olufunke, however, success has never been solely about professional accomplishments.
One of the defining moments in her life came after attending a women’s conference several years ago. The experience prompted a period of deep reflection and self-discovery.
According to her, it was at that point she realized she was not fully living out the potential she believed God had placed within her. That realization sparked a renewed commitment to personal growth, leadership development, and intentional living.
The lessons from that season would eventually influence one of her most impactful initiatives; the Sure Women Wellness Foundation.
As founder and convener of the foundation, Arokodare created a platform dedicated to empowering women to take responsibility for their growth spiritually, emotionally, physically, and professionally. Through free seminars, mentoring sessions, and development-focused engagements, the foundation has reached women from diverse backgrounds, including aspiring entrepreneurs and young professionals seeking direction.
For her, the mission is simple but profound: helping women become better versions of themselves.
The impact of the initiative, she says, is among the achievements she holds most dearly. Alongside her pride in her children, she considers the transformation stories of women who have found clarity, confidence, and renewed purpose through the foundation as some of life’s most rewarding moments.
Central to her philosophy is a belief that life should be lived intentionally rather than merely endured. She advocates a lifestyle grounded in faith, integrity, and personal responsibility, emphasizing that decisions and choices should be filtered through enduring values.
Her guiding principle, she explains, is rooted in understanding that individuals must actively pursue and manifest the victories and opportunities already available to them through faith, courage, and discipline.
Today, Olufunke continues to expand her influence through business, mentorship, and community engagement while remaining focused on a larger vision of raising women who are confident, grounded, and purpose-driven.
She hopes her work will encourage people to remain anchored in their values and develop the resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges successfully.
For young people searching for direction in an increasingly competitive world, her message is clear: discover your purpose, remain true to yourself, and resist the temptation to measure your journey against someone else’s.
It is a philosophy she has not only preached but lived; a journey defined by growth, service, and the determination to help others rise while pursuing her own calling.
In an era where many seek influence, Omooba Olufunke Arokodare’s story offers a reminder that lasting impact often begins with purpose, conviction, and a willingness to invest in the growth of others.
