Reid recognized for its stroke care
The American Heart Association awarded Reid Health Get With The Guidelines achievement awards for its stroke care.
Reid received Gold Plus recognition for stroke care and Gold recognition for rural stroke care. It marked the sixth straight year the health care organization has earned recognition from the American Heart Association.
The awards are based on “demonstrating a commitment to following up-to-date, research-based guidelines for the treatment of stroke, helping save lives, support recovery, and reduce hospital readmissions.”
“Our team works incredibly hard and that commitment is reflected in the exceptional care our patients receive every day,” said Misti Foust-Cofield, vice president and chief nursing officer for Reid Health, in a news release. “The relentless focus on excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement is transforming lives and setting a standard for rural healthcare.”

Lawson’s experience includes serving as director of communications for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, deputy director of communications for the Indiana Department of Education, press secretary for the Indiana Republican Party and media relations specialist for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. She is a graduate of Ball State University and earned a master’s degree from Western Governors University.
“Holly’s communications expertise, public-sector experience, and proven ability to build trusted relationships make her an outstanding addition to Commonwealth,” said Theresa Criss-Hartwig, Commonwealth’s chief business development and marketing officer, in a news release. “Her strategic mindset and commitment to service will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our team.”
Lilly to acquire firm
Eli Lilly and Co. has announced an agreement to purchase clinical-stage biopharmaceutical firm AtaiBeckley.
Indianapolis-based Lilly will acquire the firm, which is working on treatments for depression. The treatments are designed to restore synaptic connectivity and promote the growth of new neural connections.
“Treatment-resistant depression persists even after multiple treatments have failed. Millions of people are still searching for relief and desperately need a therapy that works,” said Carole Ho, Lilly Neuroscience executive vice president and president, in a news release. “Advancing AtaiBeckley’s investigational therapies gives us a real chance to change that.”
Partnership extended
Dollar General announced Thursday that it has made another $1 million donation to Feeding America to extend an ongoing partnership.
The company has donated more than $6 million to the organization since 2019. The partnership helps provide meals to children experiencing food insecurity.
“Dollar General is proud to continue our partnership with Feeding America to help meet the needs of individuals and families in our hometown communities,” said Denine Torr, Dollar General’s vice president of corporate social responsibility and philanthropy, in a news release. “We are honored to support Feeding America’s work in more than half of all counties nationwide. This milestone reflects our shared commitment to expanding food access and making a meaningful difference for our neighbors who depend on these vital resources.”
Deal reached
CVS Health’s Caremark has reached a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission regarding its use of after-market discounts.
According to Reuters, CVS agreed to curb the use of after-market discounts, such as rebates, and count TrumpRx purchases toward deductibles. The agreement is similar to a settlement Cigna reached with the FTC earlier this year.
“The FTC under President Trump won’t stand for anticompetitive behavior that drives up prices for American consumers,” said Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson.
