BRADFORD College proudly marked another successful year of learning and achievement with its annual STAR Awards – a stand-out celebration recognising the commitment, progress and accomplishments of students across the College.
Taking place over three days at Trinity Green Sports Hall, the event brought together learners, staff and employer partners to acknowledge the effort and determination shown throughout the academic year.
The STAR Awards celebrate more than academic success alone. They recognise students who have demonstrated resilience, personal development and a positive approach to learning, whether they are beginning their educational journey or returning to education as an adult.
The ceremonies reflected the breadth of the College community, highlighting individual progress alongside collective achievement.
This year’s celebrations recognised learners from Engineering, Construction, Foundation Learning and Progression to Learning and Work (PLW), Science and Computing, Professional and Creative, Early Years, Health and Social Care, Access to Higher Education, and Adult Skills.
Across each ceremony, awards were presented for inspirational students, adult learners and course-level achievement, showcasing the wide range of opportunities available at Bradford College.
Employer partners played a key role throughout the event, joining College staff to present awards and share words of encouragement. Their involvement highlighted the strong connections between education and industry, reinforcing the importance of confidence, ambition and transferable skills alongside technical knowledge.
Many speakers emphasised how vital it is to recognise success and to support learners in believing in their abilities and potential future pathways.
The STAR Awards continue to be an important moment in the College calendar, providing an opportunity to celebrate hard work, inspire aspiration and acknowledge the dedication shown by students across all areas of study.
Together, the three days served as a powerful reminder of the impact of education and the achievements possible through commitment and support.

Bradford College is proud to celebrate a double success at the Bradford Sports Awards 2026, having been named Active Workplace, while also supporting an outstanding individual achievement from one of its young learners.
Winning the Active Workplace Award recognises Bradford College’s ongoing commitment to promoting physical activity, wellbeing and healthy lifestyles for staff and students, reinforcing its role as a positive and supportive place to work and learn.
The celebrations continued with Lucy Ellerton, a Hair and Beauty student on the College’s 14-16 provision, who was named Young Achiever (Under 18) – Young Disability Sportswoman. Alongside her studies, Lucy is a dedicated figure skater competing at a high level, including events linked to the Olympics. With the College’s support balancing training, competitions and learning, Lucy’s confidence and ambition continue to grow.
Together, these awards highlight Bradford College’s commitment to wellbeing, inclusion and helping individuals thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

Bradford College recently hosted its third annual Speed Mentoring Event at The Grove Restaurant in the David Hockney Building, bringing together students and professionals from a wide range of sectors of a morning of insight, inspiration and connection.
Now a regular fixture in the College calendar, the event paired learners with mentors for a series of 10-minute conversations designed to build confidence, broaden career awareness and encourage reflection on future pathways. Mentors represented sectors including business, education, law, sport, public services and energy, with employers such as Yorkshire Water, Bradford Council, Parliament and community organisations taking part.
Students valued the opportunity to hear honest, real-world career journeys and gain practical advice on confidence and communication. Mentors were equally inspired by learner’ ambition, resilience and maturity.
Vice Principal Alina highlighted the event as a ‘win-win’ for students and employers, reinforcing Bradford College’s commitment to empowering learners and strengthening employer partnerships.
Our Adult and Higher Education Open Evening will take place on Wednesday, May 14, from 5-7pm, in the David Hockney Building.
