Hypixel Studios hasn’t just opened up the comms for Hytale; it’s broken the information dam and let it flood out in what the studio notes as its biggest dev blog ever, unloading details on its major Chapter 1 update, multiple looks at in-development features, and even a rough timeline for releases.
The Chapter 1 patch is currently looking to bring more reasons for players to hop in to Hytale more often by adding its first dungeon along with a multi-phase boss fight, a goblin faction that features a new world event and lets players get their hands on goblin-y gadgets like rocket boots and a hookshot, a new runes system that lets players add two different modifiers to their abilities, and the ability to carry and throw objects like exploding barrels.
Further down the line, players can expect a wide assortment of new cosmetics for characters, multiple UI updates, the ability for items to have transparency (functioning glass woo), multiple minigames, more animals and pets, a companion system to help around the in-game house, and multiple world generation tech updates including volumetric clouds and loading the world in “cubic chunks,” machinima tools, spectator modes and hardcore modes, and a rework of crafting.
Unfortunately, none of these features has a firm date yet, but the lengthy post does close with some release windows: Chapter 1 is being targeted to arrive within the next two to three months, while other features are projected to land anywhere from two weeks to two months, except for things like crafting reworks, which are slated for a wholly undated Chapter 2 and volumetric clouds TBD. It is quite a lot to read, but it might be worth the time for fans regardless.
