We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nabila Jahan. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nabila below.
I found my purpose by simplifying my life and focusing on practices that nourish both my body and mind. I prioritize whole, unprocessed foods, staying hydrated, and incorporating herbs and natural remedies for healing. Daily movement, like walking and stretching, keeps me grounded, while mindfulness and deep breathing help me stay centered. Aligning these habits with my faith, Islam teaches balance and gratitude, guiding me to prioritize health and wellness in a holistic way. This connection to both physical and spiritual well-being keeps me grounded in my purpose.
As a nutrition and wellness educator, I teach people how to take care of their health by making better food choices and adopting healthy lifestyle habits. I explain the benefits of eating nutritious foods, staying active, and practicing self-care. By helping others understand how to live healthier lives, I empower communities to prevent illness, boost energy, and improve overall well-being. This has a lasting impact, as it helps people live longer, feel better, and pass on these healthy habits to future generations.
In the future, I aspire to write a children’s book focused on wellness practices that encourage healthy habits from a young age. I believe that teaching children about proper nutrition, the importance of movement, and self-care early on can lay the foundation for a lifetime of good health. By introducing simple, fun, and age-appropriate wellness routines, I hope to empower young minds to understand their bodies, make healthier choices, and develop a positive relationship with their well-being that will benefit them as they grow.
Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my health and wellness journey were patience, gratitude, and balance.
Patience (Sabr): We are taught that change takes time, and this applies to health as well. Improving nutrition and wellness is a gradual process, so be patient with your progress, trusting in God’s timing while making steady efforts.
Gratitude (Shukr): Being thankful for the body and health we have encourages us to nourish it properly. Focus on appreciating small improvements in your wellness journey, and let gratitude inspire you to make healthy food choices and practice self-care.
Balance (Mizan): Balance is essential in all aspects of life, including diet and lifestyle. Instead of following extreme diets or routines, aim for moderation in your eating and wellness habits. Start with simple, sustainable practices that promote overall health without overwhelming yourself.
When I feel overwhelmed, I start by taking a deep breath and pausing for a moment. I often go for a walk, practice mindfulness, or spend time outside to clear my mind. Breaking big tasks into smaller, manageable steps helps me tackle them more easily. I also make sure to take breaks and reach out to friends or family for support. Finally, I surround myself with the things I love, remind myself of my purpose, and give myself the encouragement to try again.
