The maiden edition of the Power Move Conference, themed “From Hidden to Unstoppable: Take Your Seat at the Table,” has been held in Jos, Plateau State, attracting entrepreneurs, professionals, emerging leaders and individuals seeking growth in business, leadership and personal development.
The event, which took place on June 12, 2026, at Odilins Event Center, was organised by Sylvia Matlong Mbai in partnership with Jos Business Women Connect (JBWC).
The conference witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with the venue filled beyond capacity and several participants unable to gain entry due to the large crowd.
Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, the convener, Sylvia Matlong Mbai, said the conference was designed to empower individuals to overcome fear, self-doubt, excuses and limiting beliefs that often hinder them from pursuing opportunities and stepping into positions of influence in leadership, business and society.
She noted that many people possess the potential to make meaningful contributions but remain held back by internal barriers and societal expectations. According to her, the conference was created to challenge those limitations and encourage participants to embrace their capabilities and take bold steps toward achieving their goals.
Mbai added that the platform seeks to equip attendees with the confidence, knowledge and networks needed to thrive in their chosen fields while fostering a culture of leadership, excellence and personal growth.
She said many people already have the talent, potential, and capacity required to succeed but are often held back by personal limitations and concerns about how others perceive them.

The conference featured sessions from respected professionals across different fields, focusing on personal development, leadership, confidence building, and business growth.

Participants also benefited from networking opportunities, product exhibitions, and an Action Statement Reflection Session, where they identified practical steps to implement lessons from the conference.
Following the event, participants shared testimonies of taking bold steps in their businesses, careers, and personal lives as a result of the knowledge and inspiration gained.
