Wake County launches free online learning platform for library cardholders – Wake County Government (.gov)

Wake County Public Libraries cardholders now have free 24/7 access to thousands of on-demand video courses designed to support career growth, personal development and lifelong learning.
This new partnership with Gale Presents: Udemy means cardholders will be able to explore more than 25,000 online, expert-led video courses spanning topics like business, technology, skilled trades, personal development and more. The collection also includes specialized content for English language learners and job seekers looking to gain or sharpen critical workplace skills.
“This offering removes barriers to high-quality education and is just another way our libraries support learning for all Wake County residents,” said Susan Evans, chair, Wake County Board of Commissioners. “This is a great resource that we hope all residents will take advantage of.”

Major course categories include cloud computing, data science, design, development, finance/accounting, human resources, IT operations, leadership/management, marketing, office productivity, personal development, project management and sales.
This initiative supports the Wake County Board of Commissioners’ strategic focus on Lifelong Learning and aligns with Wake County Public Libraries’ mission to foster learning for all by removing barriers to educational opportunities.

Residents can get access to Udemy by signing up for a free library card and instant access to digital resources by visiting wake.gov/Libraries and clicking “Get a Card.”
Then, use your log-in information to access guides.wake.gov/udemy and explore a world of learning and skill-building, right at your fingertips.
