More than 130 female leaders and aspiring leaders from across the region came together on Monday, July 13, for the third Women in Leadership event hosted by John Leggott College (JLC).
The event aims to reinforce the growing demand for spaces that empower, connect and champion women at every stage of their leadership journey.
Bringing together professionals from a wide range of sectors, the day was filled with inspiration, networking and personal development opportunities, helping attendees share experiences and build valuable connections.
It featured keynote speeches from Sue Rands of Rands Solicitors, Toni Robinson of The Cookie People, Meg Gower of Project Trust, and Michelle Harness of Scunthorpe United Football Club.
Each speaker shared their own leadership journey, offering honest insights into the challenges they have faced, the lessons they have learned and the importance of valuing their teams while supporting other women to succeed.
Their stories highlighted the different paths into leadership and the importance of confidence, resilience and collaboration in helping women achieve their ambitions.
Alongside the keynote sessions, guests took part in interactive workshops led by Ebony from Little Enchantments, Kim from Elizabeth Kate Bridal, Lisa from Twin Tigers and Helen Davis.
The sessions explored a range of topics, including confidence-building, personal development, self-defence, and professional growth, giving attendees practical tools and ideas to support their own leadership journeys.
The Women in Leadership event forms part of JLC’s ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for women across the region to connect, learn from one another and build supportive professional networks.
While progress has been made in increasing female representation in leadership roles, women continue to face barriers across many industries.
Events such as this provide an opportunity not only to celebrate successful women but also to encourage the next generation of leaders by sharing experiences, building confidence and creating meaningful connections.
Speaking after the event, Claire Haller, Deputy Principal and driving force behind the Women in Leadership initiative at JLC, said: "The response to our third Women in Leadership event has been incredible.

JLC extended its thanks to all of the speakers, workshop hosts and attendees whose enthusiasm and willingness to share their knowledge helped make the event such a success.
Following the overwhelmingly positive feedback, planning is already underway for the next Women in Leadership event as JLC continues its mission to support, inspire and celebrate female leadership across the region.
